About MyRetireHub
We believe the numbers behind retirement should be as clear as the numbers on an invoice. MyRetireHub exists to make that math transparent.
Retirement math, made transparent
Retirement planning is full of jargon, black-box spreadsheets, and advisers who charge to show you a number. MyRetireHub takes the opposite approach. Everything here is built on simple, auditable arithmetic: multiply your annual spending by 25, subtract what guaranteed income already covers, and you have a defensible first target. You can check the working yourself, on any page.
Everything runs in your browser
Our calculators run entirely in the browser. The figures you type in never leave your screen, are never uploaded, and are never stored on our servers. There is no account, no "sync," and nothing to leak. Your retirement numbers stay private because they are calculated locally, on your own device.
This is a deliberate design decision. Financial tools often monetize the very data that is most sensitive. We would rather give you a transparent calculation than collect your net worth.
The 4% rule and FIRE, honestly
The 4% rule and the FIRE movement are popular because they are simple. We are honest about both the appeal and the assumptions. The 4% rule is a historically grounded guideline, not a guarantee. FIRE depends on a savings rate you can actually sustain, and a rate of return that is a projection, not a promise.
Where a tool relies on an assumption, we say so and let you change it. Where a result is an estimate, we call it an estimate. No guaranteed-return marketing, no exaggerated outcomes.
Built for thorough skeptics
Healthy retirement planning means testing your assumptions, not just trusting a headline percentage. We encourage you to run your own figures, adjust the inputs, and stress-test the outcome. The MyRetireHub guide articles walk through the reasoning behind each rule so you can judge for yourself whether it fits your situation.
Nothing on this site is financial advice. We provide clear arithmetic and an honest description of its limits, so you can have a more informed conversation with a qualified professional, your own spreadsheet, or yourself.
